Bangalore: An engine of the Karnataka Express (Bangalore City to New Delhi), which left Bangalore City Station on time, caught fire at around 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sources said the fire in the second engine of the train was noticed when it was approaching Cantonment Station. They said the engine drivers detached the engine. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services was informed and a fire tender was pressed into service to extinguish the fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Sources said the train departed from Cantonment Station with a single engine. Due to the fire, several other trains were delayed.
