Three die in roof collapse in Bidar
Bidar: Three persons were killed when the roof of a bus terminus collapsed at Bhalki town of Bidar district at 10.40 a.m. on Friday. As many as 16 people were injured and five of them are said to be in serious condition. As many as 11 of the injured have been admitted to Bhalki Taluk Hospital and five, whose condition is said to be serious, are in the District Hospital in Bidar city. The police identified the dead as Naseer Khaji Miyan (18), Ratnamma (50) and Kosha Bai (40). According to an eye-witness account, many passengers were at the bus terminus when the incident occurred. Some managed to escape when the roof collapsed and others were trapped in the debris. When news spread, people rushed to the spot and helped the police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel in the rescue operation. The police are said to have rescued seven, including four children, from the debris. Earthmovers were pressed into service for carrying out the rescue operation.
