Fire destroys sugarcane crop

Hassan: Sugarcane grown in 10 acres at Kudlur in Belur was reduced to ashes in a fire accident on Friday afternoon. The land belonged to Noche Gowda, Kenche Gowda and Mohan Kumar. Assistant Fire Officer Nanje Gowda said that the fire tenders took an hour to douse the flames. He said the fire would have spread to other areas if the fire tenders had not reached the spot minutes after the incident.
