In action: Fire force personnel trying to douse the fire at the Cauvery emporium in Bangalore on Tuesday.
BANGALORE: The fire that broke out inside the Cauvery Karnataka State Arts and Crafts Emporium on M.G. Road on Tuesday night destroyed toys, artificial jewellery, clothes and carpets on the mezzanine floor of the building. A traffic policeman saw smoke coming out the building at around 8.15 p.m. and informed the fire force. Fire force personnel broke open the door of the emporium, as it was closed by 7.30 p.m., to douse the fire. As many as seven fire tenders were pressed into service. Vehicular traffic was diverted from M.G. Road for some time.
