Fire in fibre water tank

Bangalore : A fire broke out at the backyard of a factory in Bommasandra industrial area at 9.30 am on Monday, destroying fibre water tanks worth lakhs of rupees. Firefighters could not ascertain the cause of the blaze. A large number of new water tanks were stored at the site. All the fibre tanks evaporated due to extreme heat. By the time seven firefighters extinguished the raging inferno, the entire backyard was charred.

Blast again at Gottigere factory

Three persons were injured when a chemical drum blew up at a barrel cleaning unit in Gottigere on Monday. Last week, in a similar blast, a person was charred to death and two others were injuries at the same unit. The intensity of the Monday blast was low. The unit was being shifted and labourers were taking a lunch break by cooking biryani near a barrel containing lubricants. The heat from the cooking pot ignited the barrel. Police said the pollution control board had told KTC Enterprises to shut down after last week's blast.
